OUR 13 FUNDRAISING PROGRAMS
50 STATES IN 75 DAYS!
This is our Annual Signature Event. Every year we will visit a minimum of 200 American Legion’s and VFW’s, combined, in all 50 states in 75 days. Post Commanders will be given a time and date for our visit. We would like them to start collecting money from their members and guests and present it to us during our visit. The money raised will be for our Operation: Homeward Bound program; to help end Veteran Homelessness.
OPERATION: WE’VE GOT YOUR SIX!
This is an on-going program where participating Active Duty, Reserve and National Guard Members will donate $1.00, $3.00 or $5.00 every two weeks on the 1st and 15th of each month. These will be automatically debited from their paychecks and the proceeds will go to our Operation: Homeward Bound program; to help end Veteran Homelessness. Congress and Senate Members, Base Commanders and Commanding Officers of each state’s National Guard will assist our organization in implementing this program.
This is an on-going program to recruit 250 Volunteers, preferably 5 from each state, to drive a minimum of 4 hours of Uber a week and then donate their earnings, including tips, to our organization. Drivers will be given a signed Donation Receipt at the end of each year which will be used as a tax deduction on their personal income tax return. This will benefit our Operation: Homeward Bound program; to help end Veteran Homelessness.
This is an on-going event on our website. Items up for auction will include Sports and Entertainment Memorabilia, Travel Packages and Cruise Packages. Sports Packages, Airline Tickets, Hotel and Resort Packages and Casino Packages will also be available from time to time.
MOTORCYCLE RIDES / CARAVANS
Our goal is to have at least one event in all 50 states. These rides will be led by American Legion Riders whenever possible. Most rides will be 100 miles and will begin and end at an American Legion or VFW. Riders will get pledges from friends and family for each mile traveled. The money raised will go to our Operation: Homeward Bound program; to help end Veteran Homelessness.
A plaque will be awarded to the Rider who raises the most money for each ride. Cash prizes will also be awarded to the first, second, and third place Rider who raises the most money.
5K AND 10K RUNS
Our goal is to have at least one event in all 50 states. Runners will get pledges from friends and family for each race. The money raised will go to our Operation: Homeward Bound program; to help end Veteran Homelessness.
A plaque will be awarded to the Runners for first, second and third place. Cash prizes will also be awarded to the first, second, and third place Runner who raises the most money.
MAJOR LEAGUE BASEBALL (MLB)
Major League Baseball will have a program called “Strike Out Veteran Homelessness!” For each strikeout, the MLB or each individual Club, will make a $25.00 donation to our organization in support of Operation: Homeward Bound.
THE NATIONAL FOOTBALL LEAGUE (NFL)
The NFL will have a program called “Kick Out Veteran Homelessness!” For each field goal, the NFL or each individual Club, will make a $25.00 donation to our organization in support of Operation: Homeward Bound.
Three races will be selected each year. Donations will be solicited from the fans at the entrance to each race and from the racetrack itself. NASCAR will also make a donation to our organization in support of Operation: Homeward Bound.
CELEBRITY GOLF TOURNAMENTS
There will be two tournaments each year. One will be in Palm Beach County and the other will be in San Diego, CA. Each tournament will have 12 foursomes. Each foursome will have a celebrity golfer. Golfers will bid to gain entry to the tournament. Spectators will purchase tickets. A plaque will be awarded to each member of the winning foursome.
Three concerts will be selected each year. 1 country music concert, 1 heavy metal concert, and 1 pop concert. One will be on the East Coast, one on the West Coast, and one in the Midwest. A pre-determined percentage of the proceeds will be donated to our organization. Donations will also be solicited from the fans at the entrance to each event.
BLACK TIE GALAS
One will be held in Palm Beach, FL and the other in Palm Springs, CA. There will be a cocktail hour, dinner, and dancing, with live music. There will be a Silent Auction with artwork, vacation packages, sports, and entertainment memorabilia.
These donation coin cannisters will be placed in selected VFW and American Legion locations. Cannisters will also be placed at selected business locations. The top five organizations and businesses will be listed on our website each month.
